Baati is a famous and traditional dish of Rajasthan. Any celcebration in Rajasthan is incomplete without having Dal -Baati- Churma.
Baati can be made in different ways, like Plain, Palak Paneer Baati(shared recepi before) and Masala Baati.
Masala Baati can be served in full meal or as snack too. As the filling in the baati makes it tastes just like any snack which can be served even with evening tea.
So lets have a look at the recepi of Masala Baati
2 boiled & mashed potato
1 chopped onion
1/2 spoon chilli powder
1/4 spoon haldi powder
1/4 spoon hing powder
1/4 spoon garam masala
Salt to taste
Pinch of garam masala
Green coriander chopped
2 cups wheat flour
Salt to taste
11/2 spoon ajwain
Ghee ( for dough& dipping)
To Knead a dough add little salt , ajwain and 2 spoon of ghee/ oil to wheat flour and knead a dough( not too tight,nor too soft).Add all the ingredients of masala and mix it properly
Make small balls of it.Now make balls of dough, little bigger than as we make for roti,press it gently with your palm.Put the masala ball in dough and close it from all corners and seal the corners. Shape it round again. Same way make all baatis
Preheat oven at 180°c for 10 min.Bake all the baatis at 180° for 20-25 min.Do check it at 18-20 min as all oven work differently at different temperatures
Baatis are ready to serve. Dip them in ghee & serve with tea, green chutney, sauce or can be accompanied with dal too
