Chaats are my favourite. How about you? Dal Pakwaan is one of my favourite chaat. With its awesome taste, it is quite fulfilling too.Many consume it as morning breakfast or evening snacks.
I can have it anytime as I Love it so much. The crunch of Pakwaan with soothing dal and tanginess of chutneys and pungent onions makes the taste of Dal Pakwaan Scrumptious.
It can also be served as starter in Parties or with mini Pakwaans in kids party too.It is a simple recepi to make and can be prepared a time ahead except dal and stored, preparation of dal will not take much of time.

Ingredient for Pakwaan
2 cups Maida
1/2 spoon ajwain
2 spoon oil
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Ingredients for Dal
11/2 cup chana dal
Salt to taste
1/2 spoon haldi
1 spoon oil
A pinch of hing
1/4 spoon chilli powder
1/2 spoon jeera
Ingredients for Plating
Chopped coriander leaves
Green Chillies diced
Preparation of Pakwaan
Mix all the ingredients and make a dough using water
Roll round puris, size of your choice and fry it in hot oil till crispy
Serve it or store in air tight container
Preparation of Dal
Put dal,haldi powder ,salt to taste and little water in pressure cooker
Boil it with 3-4 whistles in cooker
Once pressure released, strain water from dal, if any and mash dal a little, not completely.
Now in tadka pan , heat oil,add hing, add jeera,once jeera splutters add red chilli powder and pour tadka in dal.
Plating of Dal Pakwaan
In a Plate, place Pakwaan, spread cookedDal on it.Now pour green chutney and tamarind chutney, all over dal
Garnish with chopped onions, tomatoes, chopped chillies , coriander and nylon sev.Serve it immediately.
