Oven Casserole – One Pot Meal

Are you not in mood to cook many dishes or are you very tired back from office and want to make one dish which can be fulfilling for whole family. If yes, then this dish is certainly going to excite you

Oven Casserole as we all know is one pot meal baked in oven. It does not require much prepreparation and also not full time involvement till the dish gets ready. Once the dish is kept in oven you can rest till it gets ready

Todays recipe is a very healthy baked rice with beans, paneer(cottage cheese)and cheese slices with some spice in it.

Let have a look at this easy, healthy and tasty recipe

Ingredients(serves 2)

1 cup rice (approx 100 gms)

3/4 cup kidney beans ( approx 75 gms)

50 gm Paneer

4 cheese slices

1 tomato

1 onion

1/2 spoon chilli powder

salt to taste

1/4 spoon haldi powder

1/2 spoon cumin powder

1/4 spoon garam masala

2 spoon ghee/olive oil

Preparation

Wash rice properly and boil the kidney beans in pressure cooker(5 whistles) or can use canned beans

Take a baking tray, spread washed rice in baking tray

Add all the spices in the rice and mix it properly using spoon

Now put boiled kidney beans on the rice. Make the tomato onion puree(just grinding them in grinder) and spread it on the beans

Preheat the oven at 180 degree C.

Now add water, as baking soaks lot of water so add water more than double of rice. Add ghee/oil and mix it with spoon

Now with foil, cover the baking tray tightly all over and keep it for bake at 180 degree for an hour

Just press stop button 10 minutes before the set time and add paneer cubes and cover it with cheese slices

Keep the rice again for set time or till the cheese melts

Your Oven Casserole is ready . Cut a slice and serve
